Critique Services Submission Instructions

Considering or already purchased a Critique Service? Please read below for important information on how to submit your work for critique.

IMPORTANT: Submitting Your Work

To submit your work, please send an email with the following to

As the subject line, please include the following text:

  • Design Critique Service, Order #
    (Your order number can be found on your order receipt.)

In the body of the email, please include your:

  • Full name
  • Address and phone number
  • Preference of critiquer (We can try to accommodate requests when possible. See their full bios here.)

Attach your files to your email—see below for format and specifications. (Hard copy documents cannot be accepted.)

For Portfolio Reviews:

  • The contents of the portfolio should be submitted as a single, multi-page PDF file. If the portfolio is digital or hosted online, please submit the link where the critiquer can access your work.
  • Each portfolio component must be fully labeled with your full name, project title, and date of completion.
  • If your file size is larger than 15 MB, you’ll need to submit a .zip file.

For a Print or Web Design Critique:

  • Files(s) can be submitted as a PDF, JPG, GIF, or video file (WMV, MP4).
  • Service price point includes review of work in a single file. If you would like to submit multiple files for review, you will need to purchase additional product units.
  • If your file size is larger than 15 MB, you’ll need to submit a .zip file. 

If your files do not meet these formatting requirements, we will contact you so they can be corrected.

Within 3 business days after Critique Services has received your submission, you will receive a confirmation message from our staff, including a critiquer assignment and estimated turn-around time. 

General Policies:

  • Design Critique Services will choose the most appropriate critiquer for each project, within the appropriate level of service, based on the type work and availability. We will try to accommodate requests when possible.
  • In most cases, designers will receive critiques within 2 to 4 weeks of submitting their material, although this will depend on the size of the project and the workload of the critiquer. Estimates for turnaround will be given by the critiquer after they receive your materials. Design Critique Services cannot commit to meeting specific deadlines.
  • We reserve the right to refuse this service to anyone, on any project, for any reason. Full refunds will be made in these cases.

Refund Policy:

This service has a strict no-refund policy. The only exception to this policy is if Design Critique Services refuses your submission. (See General Policies above for more information.)
